THE PLACE
Enjoy a secluded Mexico vacation in an ocean view villa in Careyes, an exclusive beachside community on Mexico´s Pacific coast for those in the know. The luxury development was founded by Italian banker and creative visionary, Gian Franco Brignone, after flying over this slice of paradise in the 1960s. The private enclave now has 60+ private luxury villas while retaining its artistic spirit and off-the-beaten-path allure. Careyes is located on Jalisco´s rugged Costalegre coast some 3 hours south of Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR) and 1.5 hours north of the smaller Manzanillo airport (ZLO). Private charters can be arranged to nearby Chamela airstrip (XCHM) to skip the drive.

 

THE SPACE
Perched on the edge of an escarpment, this private home boasts spectacular ocean panoramas from an elevated vantage point. Casa Las Glorias is a celebration of Mexican architecture and design, integrating a huge central palapa and mustard-yellow structures on either side with guest rooms. Bright pastel colors on walls play with traditional artisan crafts that are emblematic of Mexican history and culture; from beautiful hand-made furniture and classic glassware to eye-catching textiles and ornamental furnishings. The casa nods to its spectacular natural surroundings with organic details like the palapa´s columns fashioned from root-wrapped palm trunks and open stone walls. Views from the free form infinity pool are unreal, gazing across palm treetops and the Pacific Ocean.

 

SLEEPING ROOMS
Guest bedrooms continue the tastefully selected, cheerful design with color palettes in green, blue, orange and yellow, complemented with ornate furniture, intricate textile designs on throws, rugs, and pillows, alongside unique artwork and wall hangings. The villa can sleep up to 14 guests in seven ensuite rooms with a total of five king size beds and four twin beds. Most of the bedrooms boast ocean views from a balcony or terrace and some feature rain showers or tubs in the bathroom.

 

SURROUNDINGS
Outside your gorgeous villa, make the most of Careyes´ stunning natural landscapes and facilities; incredible ocean views easy-to-access local beaches, several restaurants, and the Chamela-Cuitzmala Biosphere Reserve. Spot playful seasonal whales over the winter months, visit the 35-ft high Copa del Sol artistic monument in the south of the bay, or head 30 minutes north to Punta Pérula for a taste of local beach life and rustic seafood restaurants. At home, follow the villa´s winding staircase for some chill time in cliffside gazebos or steal some alone time on loungers tucked into the tranquil garden.

 

AMENITIES
The villa is fully staffed with a private chef, butler and maid services, plus 24-hour security. Other amenities include wireless internet, a wine cellar, steam room, outdoor tennis court, indoor squash court with spectator seating and a gym with equipment. Guests can also make use of the fully equipped kitchen with a marble island as well as a comfy home cinema theater.
